About the role
The Assistant Banquet Manager supports the Banquet Manager in the daily operation of the banquet department and assists in leading banquet staff to ensure the successful execution of meetings, conferences, social events, weddings, and catered functions.
This is a hands-on leader responsible for supervising event setup, service, breakdown, and guest satisfaction while maintaining brand-grade service standards. The Assistant Banquet Manager acts on behalf of the Banquet Manager in their absence and assists with staffing, training, scheduling, and operational oversight.
Reporting
- Reports to: Banquet Manager
- Supervises: Banquet Servers, Bartenders, Housepersons, Set-Up Staff, and Temporary / Event Staff as assigned

Location
This role is located in the Greenville, NC market. We welcome candidates relocating from or commuting within Eastern North Carolina, including the Raleigh, Durham, and Research Triangle corridor.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with daily staffing assignments, scheduling, labor deployment, and event coverage to ensure efficient operations
- Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate BEO details, service expectations, and operational updates to banquet staff
- Supervise banquet functions from setup through breakdown, ensuring compliance with brand service standards, client specifications, and service expectations
- Provide leadership, training, coaching, and performance feedback to banquet team members while fostering a positive and professional work environment
- Assist with inventory control and the maintenance of banquet equipment, supplies, linens, and service ware
- Serve as Manager on Duty for assigned banquet and convention center events, responding promptly to guest concerns, client requests, and operational challenges
- Collaborate with Culinary, Sales, Convention Services, Engineering, and Housekeeping teams to ensure seamless event execution
- Maintain compliance with property policies, safety standards, sanitation procedures, responsible alcohol service requirements, and departmental productivity goals
What we look for in this seat
- 3-7 years banquet operations experience at a full-service hotel, convention center, large-format venue, or premium independent property
- Prior supervisor, captain, or assistant manager experience in banquet, F&B, or convention services
- Floor leadership across plated, buffet, and reception service formats
- BEO fluency, run-of-show coordination, and cross-departmental coordination experience
- TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler certification preferred
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with extended evenings and weekends
- Bilingual English / Spanish a strong plus
Compensation
$40,000-60,000 commensurate with experience, brand portfolio depth, and operational scope. Eligible bonus structure and brand-system benefits.
