Engagement: 1099 finder. Percentage of capital facility closed. Location: Remote.

A note from the founder

MBE-certified professional services firms are systematically underfunded.

Generalist lenders do not understand the MBE growth model. Generalist VCs do not write checks at the scale and structure MBE founders need. The capital exists. The connectors do not.

The Wilkinson Firm is a 14-month MBE-certified workforce strategy firm post-revenue, pre-scale. We need capital connectors who can introduce us to the SBA lenders, MBE-targeted capital programs, revenue-based financing partners, and CDFIs that actually fund firms like ours.

This is a finder's fee role with a clear climb. Mission-aligned starter percentage. Real upside as your introductions close.

What you would do

  • Introduce TWF to qualified capital sources across SBA 7(a), SBA 504, MBE-targeted lenders, CDFIs (Community Development Financial Institutions), revenue-based financing platforms, and state MBE capital programs
  • Position the introduction with context (no spam intros)
  • Coordinate the warm hand-off to TWF leadership
  • Track the introduction through to closed facility

Compensation - Climbing Ladder

Stage 1 (first 3 introductions, mission-aligned starter):

  • 1% of total facility size on every closed introduction
  • $500 minimum
  • Paid 30 days after facility funds

Stage 2 (after 3 closed introductions OR one facility above $250K):

  • 2% of facility size
  • $1,000 minimum
  • No cap
  • Recurring 1% on facility expansions

Stage 3 (after 5 closed introductions + sustained quality):

  • 3% of facility size
  • $2,500 minimum
  • Retainer option ($1,000-2,500/mo) for committed capital strategy advisory
  • Senior advisor track opens

Who we want

  • Background in commercial banking, SBA lending, MBE capital programs, family office, RBF, or CDFI
  • Active network with lender, investor, or capital program decision-makers
  • Comfortable making warm intros that respect both sides
  • Has closed at least 3 capital introductions in your career
  • Familiarity with MBE growth-stage firm financing math

Bonus: Direct experience funding MBE professional services firms. Prior role at MBDA, NMSDC, Goldman Sachs One Million Black Businesses, JPMorgan MBE programs, or equivalent.

  • Generalist business development professionals without specific capital network
  • Anyone whose only "lender contact" is a referral form on a bank website
  • Cold-callers without warm introduction capacity
